Upgrades Coming to the Salesforce Mobile App

Upgrades Coming to the Salesforce Mobile App

Salesforce Mobile is the latest branch of the Salesforce UI to get a significant face lift. As many of you know, Salesforce is making a large push to get all of their users onto Lightning. And for good reason. The interface is more user friendly and the workflows and layouts have been improved. Of course, Salesforce Classic will no longer be getting the newest features, support and upgrades, so it only makes sense to make the jump to lightning.

That is where the new Salesforce Mobile App comes in. The mobile version of Salesforce has been a bit behind for some time now, and was in need of some love. The latest upgrades have made the mobile app completely in sync with Lightning, giving users an extremely similar experience.

If you are a Lightning user, the above screenshot should look pretty familiar to you. The end result of these upgrades:

  • Users can have a smoother transition from desktop to phone, and can see the same screens and components on either
  • You can set up different pages, templates, or components to show as default, depending on which type of device is being used (desktop, tablet, phone)

So, for any remote sales teams, or regular mobile users, the Salesforce Mobile App should be much improved and better enable you to grow your business.

App of the Week – Signature Capture

App of the Week – Signature Capture

When you are doing business on the go, or under a short deadline, you may need to quickly transfer physical elements of the deal to the digital. While there are all sorts of apps and programs out there that can transfer your documents, images, attachments, etc. what about a person’s handwritten signature? Signature Capture does just that, allowing anyone to create a digital signature and store it in Salesforce, directly on the related object so it can be re-accessed at any time.

Signature Capture is a Lightning Component that allows signing via a browser or mobile device and stores the captured signature as a Salesforce attachment or Salesforce file (Salesforce files added in July 2017 update)

Salesforce Reports Get a New Feature in Summer ‘19

Salesforce Reports Get a New Feature in Summer ‘19

Get your calculation hat on because we are going to be looking at the new feature in Salesforce Reports this week – Row-Level Formulas. That’s right, it’s been 11 years since this idea was originally suggested by a Salesforce user on the ideas channel, but here we are, with row-level formulas finally in Beta as of the Summer ‘19 release. General Release is scheduled for Winter ‘20, where a few additional features will be added to the row-level reports as well.

A quick overview for anyone not in the know – prior to now, formula fields, (for example, the last day of the month minus 1, or the number of days since a certain event)  had to be created as one-offs fields, separate from the report. Then, that formula could be used as a field in the report to help give better insights and analytics.

All of that has changed, and you no longer have to build those unique formulas outside of the report. With the field formula functionality built right into the report, users will be to do their calculations, such as determining the number of days since an open opportunity was updated, instead of just listing the date, or the number of days since a user last logged on, right in the report. Saving time and making the reporting easier for everyone.

A quick note, this feature will only be available in Lightning, and again is currently only in Beta, and therefore may not be available in all orgs.

App of the Week – Custom Lightning Navigation Buttons

App of the Week – Custom Lightning Navigation Buttons

Making little tweaks to your Salesforce Org. can add up to big enhancements. This week’s app gives users 5 handy new lightning navigation buttons to refresh their org, and extend functionality. Because it is built with the standard Salesforce Lightning Component Library, this app will scale with new releases! A final feature of note is that this app allows dynamic visibility for buttons via the Lightning App Builder versus using Record Types, which means you can run a button report based on field values on a record.

5 Lightning Components which display a button for users to interact with. Easily drag-and-drop these buttons onto any page to navigate to records, URLs, Chatter Groups, and List Views, and create records with specific record types.

App of the Week – Drag n Drop by Cloud Analogy

The Drag n Drop app is a great and easy way to add files to your Salesforce pages. Once installed, you can then drag and drop a file directly onto the page or object you want to add it to. The app also features an easy file manager option that lets you have greater and faster control to all of the files you need to handle.

Several documents, images and other files can be quickly uploaded under any custom or standard Object in salesforce. Our application is configurable with your Standard Object and Custom Object , with just a click of a button you can upload, download or delete several files at the same time.
