App of the Week – Increase Client Satisfaction with Intelligent Gifting from Salesforce

Many apps you find out there, whether on the app exchange or elsewhere, are often effective, functional, but somewhat dull solutions to business problems. SwagIQ is an exception to the boring app. SwagIQ is built to automate and streamline something everyone enjoys: giving and getting free stuff. Boost client engagement, increase close rates and free up your work force from time consuming manual processes.

SwagIQ lets you seamlessly trigger, send and track real stuff from Salesforce. Send branded items, client/prospecting gifts, marketing collateral and more with the click of a button.

Tip of the Week – Improve your sales numbers with one custom Salesforce field

Tip of the Week – Improve your sales numbers with one custom Salesforce field

Your business relies on sales. At the end of the day, nothing is more important than closing that Opportunity, but not every sale is won. You have a great sales team, but it is still important to understand why a deal doesn’t close so that you can learn and improve your process going forward. You may discuss why a deal doesn’t close, but if that information isn’t being stored somewhere, it isn’t going to help much.

The solution for this is simple and quick. All you need to do is create a new picklist field on Opportunities and/or Leads labeled “Reason Lost”. Find out the most common reasons for lost deals from your team and make sure they are represented in the picklist. You can now use this field to create Reports and Dashboards that include the new data. The longer you capture this information, the more visibility you will have into the reasons why deals don’t close, allowing your team to shift their focus to better quality deals.

Add this simple fix to your Salesforce org and watch your team’s success grow.

Tip of the Week – Sales experts share what they’re thankful for

Tip of the Week – Sales experts share what they’re thankful for

It’s that time of year again. The big December holidays are almost upon us, and for those of us in the States, it’s time for Thanksgiving. Recent research has shown significant health benefits related to cultivating gratitude, and the team at Salesforce put together a list of things sales experts are thankful for. In the post, David Brock shared the following:

I’m thankful for the opportunity we have to contribute to the success of our clients.  We work with some of the smartest sales professionals in the world, dealing with some of the most complex business challenges. It’s a thrill working with them and collaboratively figuring out how to solve them. It’s a privilege, we are constantly learning with them. I’m also thankful for Starbucks Spiced Pumpkin Latte, really hits the spot this time of year.

Check out the rest of this fantastic post and let us know what you’re thankful for this year! Happy Thanksgiving!

Tip of the Week – Quotes are easy to use in Salesforce

Tip of the Week – Quotes are easy to use in Salesforce

I often like to use this blog to introduce users to powerful, underutilized tools available in the Salesforce platform. This week, I’d like to highlight one that I see all too rarely. If you’re in the business of sales, you’re probably used to the sometimes complicated process of building quotes for your customers. You might need to build multiple quotes, each one going through multiple iterations, each time creating a new PDF to send to your customer. Doing this by hand is slow and frustrating, and building this out custom would take a lot of effort and require multiple 3rd-party applications or heavy custom development. Or, you could use Salesforce Quotes and get all these powerful features out of the box!

Released a few years ago, Quotes are an incredibly powerful tool in Salesforce. From an Opportunity, you can add as many new Quotes you need. Add multiple Products at once in a simple process. When everything is ready, click a button to generate a PDF and save it to the record and/or email it to your customer. It will even record each PDF version for your records. If you need a custom Quote template, there’s no need for a 3rd-party application – you can build your template in a simple, yet robust Page Layout editor. If you’re not already using Quotes in Salesforce, you need to give it a try today!
