Tip of the Week – Salesforce Omni-Channel is better with Lightning Editions

Tip of the Week – Salesforce Omni-Channel is better with Lightning Editions

Getting work out to the best agents in real time is always a challenge, and Salesforce has addressed that challenge with Omni-Channel. Omni-Channel seamlessly streams Leads, Cases, and most standard and custom Salesforce objects directly to the correct agents based on specialty, availability, and current bandwidth. The problem is that to get the most out of this cool, new(ish) tool, you needed to purchase the Console, which was a pricey add-on. Well, times have changed, and now is the perfect time to evaluate Salesforce Omni-Channel for your team!

You may have heard that Salesforce recently changed their pricing structure, rolling out major add-ons as standard features for a relatively minor price increase, and if you were already locked into your Salesforce contract, you’re getting those features at no additional cost! One of the most exciting new inclusions for the Enterprise Edition and up is the Sales and/or Service Console. Now that basically everyone has this in their toolkit, you’re in a great place to roll out Omni-Channel with the Console and supercharge all of your processes today! So don’t wait – read the release notes, check out the implementation guide, and dive in!

Tip of the Week – Salesforce’s new “Lightning Editions” and update pricing are on the way

Tip of the Week – Salesforce’s new “Lightning Editions” and update pricing are on the way

Continuing in the theme of reimagining the products and platform with Lightning in mind, last month, Salesforce announced the new “Lightning Editions” to the world. The new packages include more features for each edition, and with these upgrades come price increases. The base price under the new Lightning model will be $75/user/month for Professional Edition, $150 for Enterprise, and $300 for Unlimited. Existing Salesforce customers will keep their pricing through the course of their contracts, but get all upgrades. So what does it mean for you?

If you’re already happy with your current Salesforce edition, you’re going to be thrilled with the upgrades. Professional orgs are finally getting Workflow, custom Profiles, and more, and the Enterprise and Unlimited editions are getting some nifty new features, including Partial Sandboxes. If you’ve been considering upgrading, your needs may be met with the new features, so take a close look at them and talk to your Account Executive for more details. If you do decide you want to upgrade, or if you’re new to Salesforce, now’s the time to jump! You still have a little time to lock in Classic prices for Lightning Edition features!
